College Expense Reduction Program

We formed an alliance with 123College.com about a year ago to help people reduce the cost of sending their kids to college.  This is not a savings program for young children, nor is it designed to search for scholarships and grants.  Rather, it focuses on students who are about to head off to college yet have few or no funds set aside for that purpose.

The program seeks to provide the following benefits:

  1. Provide a customized student profile report which includes a survey of the family's assets and shows how to possibly realign them to qualify for more financial aid.  It also lists colleges that fit well with your student's goals, including admission criteria, AP/CLEP course acceptance, contact information, financial aid that may be offered, and more.
  2. Calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) for both the federal and institutional methodologies.
  3. Complete the FAFSA form and file it for each of your student's undergraduate years.
  4. Conduct a customized college search that evaluates your college choices and suggests others with the curriculum that fits your student’s career goals.
  5. Evaluate financial aid package(s) to determine if the correct amount of financial aid is being provided.
  6. Provide Kaplan’s Premier Edition SAT or ACT practice/study guide with practice test CD-Rom, guaranteed to improve test scores.
  7. Provide access to a personality profile and aptitude test to assist your student in choosing a major that he or she should not only enjoy, but also excel in academically.
  8. Inform your family about the top companies from which to obtain student loans with the best interest rates and excellent customer service.
  9. Access to a 123College.com “Senior College Counselor” to discuss your Student Profile Report, FAFSA and/or CSS Profile filing, and the financial aid process.
  10. Provide toll-free customer service for any questions or problems you may wish to discuss.
